Welcome to my hell
There are times when I'm not proud to admit what my job is. I am a Correctional Officer. Yes, that means I'm a professional babysitter to some of the most disgusting occurrences I've ever seen. These are stories about my daily life at work. Because these stories are all true, I don't use true names or locations.
Today is New Years Day. I work for a very small city so I'll try to keep things in context. When I left work at the end of my shift yesterday, co-workers were in full riot gear preparing for the festivities.
Shockingly, there were only 4 arrests last night (for DUI or public intoxication). Even more shockingly, there was no vomit or urine on the floor of any of the jail cells. This is a common occurance that is no longer considered abnormal to me. The only abnormality is the female tweeker who was arrested for drugs that was arrested for the exact same charge 4 days ago. Ironically, she claims that she was "framed" both times. How can you frame somebody for being high? I wonder if she thinks that we believe the other invisible person she was with held a gun to her head to make her snort her drugs? In order to get a clearer idea let me describe her to you. She has overprocessed, bleached and permed hair. She is as skinny as a rail and constantly fidgits. She speaks at the speed that a hummingbird flys and has vacant eyes that only a doper or a schizophrenic has.
I am so glad that today is the last day of my work week. I get to go home and behave like a normal adult for a while now and the only fecal matter that I have to clean up is from the pets.
